So you might just as well imagine that all your life's outcomes are determined by the throw of a bunch of dices. A small number of people, let us call them the Omega group, throw the dices and get all sixes. Others start looking at them thinking they must be doing something right. They'd like to replicate their results. Let us call them the Theta group. Omegas start looking at themselves and agree: They must be doing something right, and start giving talks on their morning routine, hand technique, personal philosophy... you get the point. Thetas pay to attend their seminars, buy their books, learn the secret recipes no one wants you to know but are available for the low low price of most of your income. Thetas become afraid to throw the dices. They're not ready, they haven't read all the literature on dice-throwing. They keep looking at others who got sixes, trying to reverse engineer the magic formula. Thetas forget to throw the dices. Their overall chances of getting sixes or other good results (what's wrong with fives and sixes?) decay faster and faster with each day that passes by, until they drop to zero. What matters is throwing the dices as much as you can, and not letting good results get to your head. ___ *February 1st, 2026*
