Inequalities can be denoted with **interval notation**.
It's often used to talk about the domain of a function.
Instead of $a<x≤b$, we write $(a,b]$.
The parenthesis $($ represents an endpoint that is not part the interval.[^1]
The square bracket $]$ represents an endpoint that is included in the interval.
[^1]: It's sometimes replaced with a square bracket facing outwards.
