Box breathing is a simple and effective breathing technique to combat stress. Special forces, among which the Navy Seals, use it to manage stressful situations. Imagine a red dot following the sides of a square. 1. Inhale as it moves up on one side. 2. Hold across the top. 3. Exhale as it goes down the other side. 4. Hold across the bottom. 5. Repeat the cycle. Each time takes the same time — four, five or six seconds. Next time you feel stressed, try this instead of reaching out for coffee or listening to music that makes you even more nervous ([[Confirmation Bias|confirmation bias]]).
